A Romantic Hags Head Cliffs of Moher Elopement

If you’re dreaming of an intimate, windswept ceremony on the wild Atlantic coast, this heartfelt elopement at Cliffs of Moher will inspire you.

In May, when the sea pinks are in full bloom and the cliffs are brushed with soft shades of pink and green, Jack and Shannon travelled from the United States to Ireland to exchange vows in one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world. As an Ireland elopement photographer, these are the kinds of love stories that truly stay with you — intentional, emotional, and deeply connected to nature.

A Cliffside Ceremony Surrounded by Nature

Their ceremony took place at the dramatic edge of Hags Head — a quieter, more secluded part of the cliffs, perfect for couples seeking privacy and epic views.

Jack and Shannon chose a handfasting ceremony, an ancient Celtic ritual symbolising unity and commitment. As their hands were gently bound together, they exchanged vows they had written themselves — words filled with vulnerability, devotion, and quiet strength.

The ceremony included blessings from the earth, the water, and the fire — grounding the couple in the raw, elemental beauty that makes Ireland such a powerful place to elope. The wind, the crashing waves, the scent of the sea — everything felt alive and sacred.

Adding to the uniqueness of the day, Jack handcrafted a stunning headpiece for Shannon, which she wore during the ceremony. It was symbolic, artistic, and deeply personal

Exploring the Cliffs at Golden Hour

After the ceremony, we wandered along the cliff paths of the Cliffs of Moher, the sea pinks glowing softly in the golden light. The wind tugged gently at Shannon’s dress as they laughed, held each other close, and let the reality of what had just happened settle in.

The Atlantic shimmered beneath the setting sun.

An Ireland adventure elopement is about choosing emotion over expectation and celebrating your love story in one of the most breathtaking locations in the world.

Ending the Day in The Burren

As the sun lowered further, we made our way into the wild limestone landscape of The Burren.

If the cliffs feel dramatic and powerful, The Burren feels ancient and still. Endless stone, vast skies, and the last golden rays stretching across the horizon as the sun slipped into the Atlantic Ocean.

We ended their elopement session there — wrapped in quiet light, the day softening into dusk. No strict timelines. No distractions. Just two people who had travelled across the world to promise forever to one another.

"I had never met Guna but i found her page and knew she was perfect. We needed a photographer for a couple hours while we eloped at the cliffs of Moher. She clearly had a good handle on portait photos and landscapes.
we could not have lucked out more. her skills directing but also being discreet during the ceremony was flawless. She is definitely experienced and meticulous.
Worth every penny, if you need a photographer near Galway this is it, plus she was just so nice to talk to!"

Cliffs of Moher & Ireland Elopement FAQ

Where is the best place to elope at the Cliffs of Moher?

Ireland is beautiful year-round.
