Hanna and Adam knew from the very beginning that they wanted their wedding day to be simple, intentional, and deeply personal. Instead of a traditional celebration, they dreamed of an intimate wedding in Ireland, where they could exchange vows with nothing but the cliffs, ocean, and open sky as their witnesses.
We met at Hags Head on a day that felt very Irish — a little bit sunny, a little bit grey — at the end of August. On the drive to the cliffs, I kept hoping for moody, dramatic clouds, as they were part of Hanna’s vision for their Cliffs of Moher elopement.
Although the day started dry, the weather quickly shifted as we explored the cliffs together. Rain clouds rolled in, and despite our hopes that it would pass quickly, we were soon completely soaked while walking back to our cars. But honestly, that unpredictability is part of what makes an adventure elopement in Ireland so special.
Instead of letting the rain dampen the experience, we embraced the moment and headed to a cosy pub in Doolin to warm up and regroup. After a little chat we decided the best option would be to meet again the following day to allow Hanna and Adam to have the relaxed and meaningful vow exchange they had always envisioned.
A Sunny Surprise at the Doolin Cliff Walk
The next morning, we met at the Doolin Cliff Walk, and the landscape had transformed. The sky was clear and bright, the ocean shimmered under golden sunlight, and the cliffs glowed with soft late-summer colours. It felt like the Wild Atlantic Way was offering a second chapter to their story.
Standing together above the Atlantic, Hanna and Adam shared their vows in complete privacy. Their words were heartfelt, and deeply personal — carried only by the wind and the rhythm of the waves below. Moments like these are why I love documenting Wild Atlantic Way elopements. After their vow exchange, we spent time exploring the winding coastal trail together, capturing adventurous portraits along one of Ireland’s most breathtaking landscapes. With sunshine lighting the cliffs the day felt like a perfect balance to the dramatic storm they had experienced just hours before.
Embracing the Magic of Eloping in Ireland

When we got rained out on the first day, she was more than willing to drive out again a second day and finish the shoot. We really could not have been more lucky.
She also helped us feel at ease in front of the camera, which was impressive since neither of us had done a photoshoot before.
